This week’s photographic adventure took members of Irvine Camera Club back to Ayr this week. As a place of photographic interest, Ayr has a lot to offer. Recently we visited the sea front and town, but this time we took a walk along the River from the College to the Port to see what opportunities would present themselves.
For those interested in people and the lives they lead, there is always so much that can be found on a simple walk. On this occasion many of the people we met had dogs with them, which add further opportunities. Dogs themselves are always fun to photograph, full of character and expressions to capture.
As you can see from this eclectic mix of images, the weather was nice, bringing out the best of the architecture and nature along the river. Some of our members like working in black and white and others like to make colour the subject of their work. Some find interest in patterns, shapes and silhouettes, whilst others like to observe and record what they see. Some use branded cameras, others prefer their phones. In our club it really doesn’t matter what you use, as long as you enjoy the process of creating images you like.
The walk finished up down at the port where the Waverley was moored up for the night which was a treat and always great to see.
Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photo’s. Being social and getting out is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.
